Personal Therapy from the Heart of Liverpool
What is that problem that is getting in the way of the life you want to live?
Is it something that has just crept up recently? The panic attack that came out of the blue at work, or that feeling of despair that you’ve not been able to shift lately?
Or is it something that has been there for longer? Just bubbling away in the background, getting triggered at the most inopportune moments..?
Generally we can get by with our problems, but when they start to affect our relationships, our careers or our health then we might just need a little extra help.
CBT and EMDR – More than just talking therapies
What would be on your wishlist for the perfect therapeutic experience?
I’ll tell you what would be on mine…
First and foremost, I would want to feel at ease, comfortable and assured that I was in a safe, professional pair of hands. Secondly, if I was going to be making a financial investment in myself then I would at least want to know that the treatment I get is likely to work. I’d also want to take something away with me from the therapy…more than just talking about my problems, I’d also want to learn some new skills and techniques so that I can deal with similar problems if they arise again in future.
Does this sound like what you are looking for?
This is what CBT and EMDR with Access CBT in Liverpool is all about.
Where and when?
Access CBT is now operating two clinics at the centre of Liverpool on the well known Rodney Street with afternoon and evening appointments now available. Please call (07887 701 176) or email (firstname.lastname@example.org) us to find out availability.
How many sessions will you need?
Of course this all depends upon the type of problem that you are looking for help for and the treatment goals you have. Less severe problems that have only recently emerged can sometimes be remedied within 6 to 8 sessions, with more longstanding or complex problems sometimes requiring up to 20 sessions.
CBT and EMDR both aim to be “brief” therapies – that is, we aim to create meaningful change for you within a relatively brief time frame, and not to keep you in therapy for longer than you need to be. We will tell you how many sessions you can expect to need at the first assessment session and we will let you know if we feel that CBT or EMDR is not the right type of therapy for you.
An investment in you…
CBT and EMDR cost more than other therapies. You can get a counsellor off the counselling directory who says that they “do” CBT for around £40 per hour.
We charge £60 per hour long session…how can we justify this?
Well, Access CBT therapists are not just tinkerers in CBT. Qualified in CBT at post-grad level, experienced and fully accredited with the British Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP) and the EMDR association, the emphasis is on quality, focused therapy that works for you long term.
How much did your last holiday cost? Or that ticket to the derby match, or the Little Mix gig? Hopefully you had a great time and the cost was worth it, but when the experience is over what do you have, apart from the memories? Wouldn’t it be great if, while you were there you learnt skills and techniques that you could take home with you…so that the experience can carry on when the event is over?
Therapy is a little bit like this.
A good therapeutic experience should last longer than just the time you’re spent with the therapist…You need to learn skills, strategies and techniques to continue your progress into the real-world, integrating the positive outcomes into the rest of your life. Access CBT will provide you with all of the knowledge, skills and materials to make this happen.
So yes, it does cost more…but isn’t it time to invest in yourself, for the long term?
We’re also registered with private healthcare providers Axxa and Aviva. Please feel free to contact us on 07887 701 176 to find out more.
