Liverpool Counsellor: I’ve been working in mental health since 2006, first in the NHS and then in private therapy practice since 2014. I’m a BABCP-accredited CBT therapist and supervisor, as well as an EMDR practitioner with the EMDR Association UK. My clinical interests include OCD, PTSD, C-PTSD, social anxiety disorder, childhood trauma, and depression. I also use a variety of therapeutic approaches, including ACT and compassion focused therapy. I am an experienced personal development coach who primarily uses acceptance and commitment coaching. I also have an MSc in Positive Psychology.

My passion for mental health and genuine desire to help others, are factors that influenced my decision to train to become an accredited CBT therapist.
I started my career in the charity sector, working in housing and homelessness services. Following this I trained as a mental health social worker, gaining valuable experience working in mental health teams within a local authority and NHS setting. Within each of my roles I supported people with a range of mental health issues. Whilst social work was a rewarding profession, I often felt that I wanted to work with people in a more therapeutic and psychological way.
Retraining in Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapy felt like an intuitive step to take. I was inspired at the prospect of providing clients with a compassionate, non-judgemental space to explore their difficulties whilst equipping them with tools to make beneficial and lasting changes in their lives.
Liverpool Counsellor: I’ve been working in Mental Health Care since 2008, treating people with a variety of mental health issues. I am deeply committed to assisting people during their most vulnerable times, assisting them in overcoming their difficulties, and using evidence-based treatments to foster resilience. I believe that by providing individuals with a safe and non-judgmental environment, they can explore and develop new ways of managing their symptoms while working towards a higher quality of life.

In workshops and one-on-one sessions, I am passionate about assisting people in using Positive Psychology Interventions (PPIs) to not only survive, but thrive. I believe that we all have the ability and the right to flourish if we are given the right psychological tools, an individualized program, and a safe and open environment in which to do so.
