A computer, tablet, or phone with access to the internet. While phones are fine for using in a session, we will sometimes work together using the “whiteboard” function of Zoom, so a laptop, PC or tablet with a larger screen will help you to get the most out of the CBT session.
Access to a space where you won’t be disturbed for the session. Sessions last for between 50 minutes to 1 hour and so it’s helpful if you can find a place that you will be uninterrupted for the length of the session. Therapy can often be an emotional experience and so it’s good to give yourself the space to work through these in the session without any distractions.
Time between sessions for your between session tasks. At the end of each session, we will agree upon a between session task for you to practice your new skills. CBT has the best effects when you take the learning from the session and implement it into your life.
